Our Standards

The Town of Enfield website strives to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities.

Goals

We are working to ensure our digital presence includes:

  • Keyboard Navigation: Ensuring all menus, forms, and buttons can be operated without a mouse.
  • Text Alternatives: Providing Alt-Text for images so screen readers can describe visual content.
  • Document Remediation: Working to ensure Town documents are screen-reader friendly.
  • Color Contrast: Maintaining a high contrast ratio between text and backgrounds for better readability.

Conformance Status, Known Limitations, and Feedback

The website is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We recognize that some areas of the website, including older PDFs and pages, may not yet be fully compliant. We are in the process of updating these materials and welcome any feedback you may have.
