Wind Farm Advisory Committee

The Wind Farm Advisory Committee (WFAC) was established late 2015 – early 2016 to address local debate over the Black Oak Wind Farm project. The primary purposes of the committee was to generate research regarding the science of wind turbines, make recommendations to the Town Board concerning the updating of the town’s Wind Law (originally passed in 2009), and find common ground among residents.

Final Report

The following report is a comprehensive set of recommendations and a proposed rewrite of the Town’s Wind Energy Law submitted by the Wind Farm Advisory Committee (WFAC) on April 12th, 2016.

The Town Board later used this Final Report to impose a temporary moratorium on wind facilities.
