By examining the context in which the Constitution was written, the actual text, and the processes used by the Supreme Court to interpret its meaning, this course will try to dispel some myths. The final session will look at some of the Court’s most important cases as well as some of the current controversies. · BIO: Tom Butler (Yale, 1971), enjoyed a 40-year teaching career at a variety of independent schools in New York & Connecticut. Specializing in history and economics, he also ventured into English, psychology, law, math and school administration. Tom has taught aLifelong since 2011 and is the current Board President of Lifelong.
